アブラー先生から悲しいニュースが届きました。このたびのパリの同時
多発テロの多くの犠牲者の中に、Matthieu Giroudさんというフランス
の気鋭の地理学者が含まれておりました。このようなことの起きない
社会を目指して地理学が果たすべき役割が大きい時だけに、大変
お気の毒で、残念です。合掌。

Dear all,
It is with huge sadness that we have to inform you that Matthieu Giroud,
French critical geographer, keen analyst of cities (especially of Grenoble
and Lisbon), co-editor of the first French reader of critical urban studies,
translator of David Harvey, and Associate Prof at UPEM, was killed at the
Bataclan during the Paris attacks.
Matthieu loved music, soccer, cities, life and friendship.
We miss him already and mourn.
He will remain an inspiration.
